Safety Update Ahead of First Home Football Game

Dear Brockton Families,

We wanted to make you aware that the district will utilize its state-of-the-art metal detectors at the entrance to Marciano Stadium for all Brockton High School football games this season.

We recognize that this is a change from past security measures, however our football games draw large crowds and we feel it would be wise to use the state-of-the-art technology we have at our disposal to make all of our families and guests feel safe.

These are the same systems used at the entrances of Brockton High School. The systems look almost identical to a traditional metal detector, but they are far more advanced and typically take less time.

Here is what you need to know to ensure a smooth process:

  • Gates open approximately one hour before kickoff. We recommend that families arrive early so that we can do our best to get everyone through the line before kickoff.
  • Individuals with bags may carry their bags through the detector. The screening team may ask individuals to remove large metal items, such as umbrellas, from their bags prior to passing through the detector. We recommend leaving any unnecessary items at home.

We look forward to seeing you this season. Go Boxers!

Thank you,

Principal Burns
